Prices for movie tickets in North America have reached another record high in the first quarter of 2017, a boom fueled by movies such as 'Beauty and the Beast,' and 'Kong: Skull Island'.
US-based National Association of Theater Owners released a Theatrical Market Statistics report on the average ticket price for first-quarter 2017, putting the value at USD 8.84 each.
Going to the movies in North America hit another record high in Q1 2017, with average ticket price tracking at USD 8.79 in the fourth quarter of 2016, and an all-time high of USD 8.65 for all of 2016,
The increase is in line with large gross box-office takings of titles such as 'Beauty and the Beast', 'The Lego Batman Movie', 'Kong: Skull Island' and 'La La Land'.
NASA still claims that the average ticket price has remained relatively static when adjusting for inflation.
